Each year, we recognize a small number of leaders who consistently demonstrate what we call a Green Path approach to leadership by being Caring, Honest and Direct and having a transformative impact in their organization, especially when it matters most.
This year marks the inaugural presentation of the Humanergy Green Path Awards, and we’re proud to recognize two leaders who embody this way of leading in their organizations.
2026 Green Path Award Honorees
Angie Atkin
Vice President – People, Brazeway
Angie’s leadership reflects what it looks like to care deeply about people while also being willing to say the hard things that help them grow.
Humanergy has partnered with Brazeway since 2013 as they’ve worked to build an Impact Culture that values both performance and people. Angie has been a model of her own development while also serving as a role model and change agent for others.
She consistently challenges herself, and those around her, to be caring, honest, and direct. Angie believes that the ultimate kindness is equipping people with the truth in a way they can hear and grow from.
Social Media Team
Candace Elders & Jennifer Wagner
Honor Credit Union
The Social Media Team at Honor Credit Union demonstrated Green Path leadership in a moment that would challenge most teams.
In the week following a major organizational change, they were on the front lines responding to member questions and concerns. Even when faced with difficult or critical comments, the team remained calm, appreciative, and focused on supporting the members they serve.
Their approach reflected a steady commitment to being caring, honest, and direct, even under pressure.
Why the Green Path Matters
Leadership is often tested in the moments when conversations are difficult or decisions are complex.
As Humanergy Co-Founder David Wheatley shares:
“The leaders we recognize show that being caring, honest, and direct is not only possible, it’s essential if you want to build trust and strengthen organizations.”
At Humanergy, we’ve spent more than two decades working with leaders across industries to help them navigate these kinds of moments. The Green Path is not about being nice or avoiding tension. It’s about making choices that strengthen relationships while also moving work forward.
The leaders recognized this year show what that looks like in practice.
Looking Ahead
The Green Path Awards were created to make these kinds of leadership choices more visible and tangible.
We look forward to continuing this recognition in the years ahead, and to highlighting more leaders who choose to lead in a Caring, Honest & Direct way.
